Precision Windshield Camera Calibration

Windshield Calibration

Your forward-facing camera is mounted directly to your windshield. After replacement, it needs precise recalibration to restore your vehicle's safety systems.

Why Windshield Replacement Requires Calibration

The camera and the windshield are one system — they must be perfectly aligned.

Your vehicle's forward-facing camera is mounted directly to the windshield glass. It reads lane markings, detects traffic signs, and enables automatic emergency braking. For these systems to work correctly, the camera must be aligned with the windshield within fractions of a degree.

When your windshield is replaced, even a difference of just one millimeter in mounting position completely changes the camera's field of view. The camera now sees the road from a slightly different angle — but your vehicle's computer still thinks it's in the original position.

Without recalibration, your car may activate emergency braking too late, drift out of its lane unexpectedly, or fail to detect obstacles altogether. The vehicle feels fine to drive, but the safety systems are compromised.

Alert Symptoms

If you notice any of these after windshield replacement, your camera needs attention.

Warning Lights On

Lane assist, camera, or ADAS warning lights illuminated on your dashboard.

Lane Assist Pulling Hard

System aggressively steers the vehicle when it shouldn't.

False Emergency Braking

Brakes activate when there's no actual obstacle ahead.

Speed Sign Not Detected

Traffic sign recognition system fails to read speed limit signs.

Blind Spot Not Working

Blind spot monitoring system doesn't detect vehicles in adjacent lanes.

Just Had Windshield Replaced

Even without symptoms, calibration is required after replacement.
